emilia approaches the arts as a critical tool for education and change. through exhibitions and programming, she is committed to honoring marginalized narratives and facilitating conversation. she has worked with no longer empty, the new museum, and red bull arts, in addition to curating exhibitions independently. most recently she curated consejos de la isla at studio 106, a solo show of new work by filmmaker/photographer reva santo, and social objects, a month-long group exhibition at ctrl+shft collective that explored communication and languages of resistance. as co-founder of casa experimental, she led weekly arts workshops with high school students at the ridgewood bushwick youth center. she lives in los angeles.
