The Visual Culture of Mask Making with Emilia Shaffer-Del Valle

November 18, 2018

Programmed by Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive

During this free art making workshop, participants made their own masks inspired by a variety of visual cultures, with a special focus on Mexico’s Día de los Muertos, which takes place in November. Led by Los Angeles–based curator, artist, and educator Emilia Shaffer-Del Valle, workshop participants cut, collaged, and glued to transform simple materials into unique and creative pieces.
