Casa Experimental was an after-school arts program that ran from 2015-2017.

 

Every week Bushwick high school students create artwork at the Ridgewood-Bushwick Youth Center. With the guidance of guest artists and facilitators Stephanie Orentas, Emilia Shaffer-Del Valle, and Emma Colón, students work with a variety of media and extend their practice to encompass visual, sound and performing arts. We encourage an uninhibited exploration of the arts through collaboration and personal reflection.

We aim to expose students to a variety of media and foster a safe space for creativity. At the center of our mission is to increase representation. We are committed to challenging the white, male-dominant art world, and to working primarily with underrepresented artists.
